It was muggy and rainy at the Kapalama campus for the annual Kamehameha Invitational. I seem to remember other years where it was even rainier and muddier, but the weather definitely played a big part in creating very slippery conditions for the runners. There were quite a few false starts as quite a few runners went down at the start.

The girls varsity was dominated by Maryknoll, as the Lady Spartans took 1st, 4th, 5th, 8th and 14th. Pointwise, removing non-scoring positions, gave the Spartans an excellent score of 25 points.

On the boys side, Big Bear (mainland) was even more dominant, taking 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th and 7th for an almost perfect 19 points. Only Nathan Nakatsuka of Kamehameha and Scott Motobu of MPI could break up the Big Bear sweep.

There are no photos from the Intermediates Awards Ceremony as a race was running at the same time. I'm sorry.
